In this three week course, students will learn to build a musical improv comedy show through scene building, song structure, character work and movement. At the end of the class, students will have the opportunity to perform in a musical showcase on Monday, Oct. 14th.
Prerequisite: Students must have completed 201A or have similar improv experience

In this class, students will focus on heightening, patterns, third beats and group games to put together a “Harold” showcase at the end of 301c.
All classes are 2 hours long. Students will learn the value of “yes, and”-ing, listening, agreement, support, and more in a safe, nonjudgmental environment.

In this workshop, we will go over different types of collaborative brainstorming as well as the steps that it takes to write a great comedy sketch. Along with these ideas we will also be talking about format and themes found within sketch comedy. Participants should come prepared with a notebook and pen/pencil, a laptop or tablet.
This class is 4 hours long.

Must have some experience in sketch writing

About The Instructor:
Zach is an improvisor, writer, and musician from Orange County, California. He performs regularly at the UCB Theatre in LA, including the shows Better Movies w/ “Tommy Wiseau” and Nihongo Dake Presents: No Subtitles. He is a member of the improvised murder mystery team Murder Murder. He is also the co-host of the podcast Baywatch Watch on Campfire Media. His band The Taint recently played a mini-tour in Tokyo.
