In this workshop, students will learn tools to creating interesting, real and funny (duh) characters for improv and sketch comedy scenes.
This class is 3 hours long.

Must have some improv experience

About The Instructor:
Zach is an improvisor, writer, and musician from Orange County, California. He performs regularly at the UCB Theatre in LA, including the shows Better Movies w/ “Tommy Wiseau” and Nihongo Dake Presents: No Subtitles. He is a member of the improvised murder mystery team Murder Murder. He is also the co-host of the podcast Baywatch Watch on Campfire Media. His band The Taint recently played a mini-tour in Tokyo. This workshop will go over basics of sketch writing. Examples of sketches will be shown and discussed, and students will pitch their own ideas as well as brainstorm possible beats. If time permits, you may leave with a fully written sketch! Participants should come prepared with a notebook and pen/pencil, a laptop or tablet.

Along with these ideas we will also be talking about format and themes found within sketch comedy. Participants should come prepared with a notebook and pen/pencil, a laptop or tablet.
